What types of meals are available?

Meals at Home provides two meals a day, one hot and one cold. These nutritious meals are supplied by St. Francis Hospital, Evanston Hospital Healthcare, and Three Crowns Park. All food from these kitchens is low salt, low fat, and low cholesterol. Also available, are medically prescribed diets such as: diabetic, cardiac, or renal, or salt free.

When are meals delivered?

Caring volunteers deliver meals Monday through Saturday between 11:30a.m. and 1:00p.m. Meals are delivered on holidays if requested.

What is the cost of the meals?

Cost of the meals is determined by income. Currently, the regular cost per day is $8.20 for two meals. Reduced fees are also available using a sliding scale. To determine your cost, contact our office at 847-251-6827, Fax: 847-251-1423, or info@mealsathome.org.

What other services are offered?

Meals at Home offers a Friendly Visit Program at no fee to those who receive meals. Clients may choose to have visits either in-home or by telephone. Those who have participated in this program say they have made great new friends.
