November 27, 2018: A special 24 hour on-line campaign
Thank you for helping us reach our goal and raising $32,519 on one day!
Meals at Home is participating in Giving Tuesday 2018 - a global day of giving.
- What is Giving Tuesday? Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
- Why make your donation on Giving Tuesday? Donations made on Giving Tuesday will be automatically matched by generous donors, up to $15,000.
- What is the goal? Our goal for Giving Tuesday is to raise $30,000. Please help us reach this goal!
A very special thank you to our challenge grant donors: The Retirement Research Foundation and Meals at Home board members and former board members: Thekla and John Metz; Warren and Sally Lupel; Eileen Yu and Jeff Paul; Joan Kerr; Ken Fox; Connie Wood, Carolyn Haack.
Matching grants will automatically be applied any donation made November 19-November 30, either online or in the mail (postmarked on these days).
A donation of $50.00 helps support our meal program, such as deliveries for a week (Mon-Fri) for one client. Each day, two meals are delivered: one hot meal and one cold meal, plus juice and milk. These meals equal 2/3 of a senior's daily caloric intake.
A donation of $100.00 can provide a stable food source for our clients, such as "blizzard boxes" of emergency food rations for 10 clients. Blizzard boxes contain shelf-stable food items, such as canned food, granola bars, and crackers, that are to be used in case of such heavy snow that deliveries can't safely be made that day. Preparing for these emergency days ensures that volunteers stay safe and off the roads during blizzard conditions, and that clients won't go hungry.
A donation of $250.00 is the same as a month's worth of meals for one client. One month of delivery that includes 2 meals a day (M-F), juice and milk can provide food security for a client that otherwise struggles to eat every day.
All gifts are greatly appreciated! We thank you for your kind and generous donations to Meals at Home.
