Cash Donations Meals at Home only receives 6% of our total income from Federal funding for our work, mainly as part of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) through the City of Evanston and New Trier Township. Private foundations and individual donors provide 94% of our charitable funds. Your donation directly helps someone eat today.
Gifts can be made by cash, check, or credit card. Gifts can be made mailed or made online. All cash gifts are tax-deductible.
Recurring Gifts: Monthly and Sustaining Gifts Recurring gifts are a wonderful way to support Meals at Home. Not only are you providing a critical donation, but recurring gifts also allow Meals at Home to plan and budget throughout the year. Make your donation online and chose the amount and how often to be charged (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
Tribute Gifts: In Memory and In Honor A gift in honor or memorial donation is a unique way to acknowledge that extraordinary individual in your life. Provide the name and address of the person to whom the tribute should be sent, and Meals at Home will send a tribute letter to inform them of the donation. Download and mail in the form at the bottom of this page, or chose "Tribute" when you make an online donation.
Stock Gifts A gift of stock saves two ways. You avoid capital-gains tax on the increased value and you receive a deduction for the full market value of the stock at the time you make the gift. To ensure proper credit for your gift, it is necessary to notify Meals at Home of your contribution. A Contribution of Stock form is available from the Development Office or you can download the form from the bottom of this page. There is also a Meals at Home Brochure below, which can be printed and shared with anyone interested in making a donation to Meals at Home.
Matching Gifts Businesses and corporations are encouraged to match the gifts given by their employees. To find out if your company offers a matching gift program, please contact your employer.
Planned Giving This offers tax saving and benefits: wills, life insurance, life income gifts, charitable lead trusts and real estate. Check with your financial planner for additional information.
